Diet for jaundice
Jaundice is a condition in which the skin and the eyes start to turn yellowish in colour. Jaundice occurs when the levels of bilirubin in your level go up. This disease affects the liver. If you have jaundice, it can surely be treated by intake of a proper diet. It is extremely important to have a proper diet for jaundice for its treatment.

The diet for jaundice should have the following food items in your diet plan:
Plenty of fluids:
If you have jaundice, then it is important to make plenty of fluids a part of your diet plan. You can include a juice such as radish juice or other fruit and vegetable juices in your breakfast. The juices should be fresh and pure. You can also have sugarcane juice, carrot juice, and beet juice. Along with juices, drink a lot of water too. Coconut water is also an excellent option. Add a little lemon juice to water and drink that at least once a day.
Fruits and vegetables:
It is very important that you include lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet for jaundice. Have at least 4 to 5 portions of fruits and veggies each day. Include lots of carrots, lemons, pears, tomatoes and beets to your diet.
Have a high carbohydrate based diet. A high carbohydrate based diet will minimize the strain on the liver. Include high carbohydrate foods like porridge, dalia, suji, oatmeal, brown rice etc. to your diet.
Patients suffering from jaundice should avoid fats. So avoid the intake of butter, cheese, meat and other fatty foods. So fatty foods should not be a part of your diet plan.
